American Drive-In Cleaners was started in 1964.
American Dry Cleaners’ primary location is 418 S Oyster Bay Rd, on the border of Hicksville and Plainview, but we also serve customers from Syosset, Jericho, Bethpage, Woodbury, Melville, all the way to Massapequa & Merrick. Our East Northport location serves additional customers from Huntington, Dix Hills, Greenlawn, and Commack. While our signature services include dry cleaning and laundry, we offer so much more.
American Drive-In Cleaners, established in 1964 by Sol Bleck, was the first and only dry cleaner in town. As the years progressed, a young systems analyst named Peter Kuchlik began working on weekends part-time. Peter fell in love with both the business and Sol’s daughter and began working for American full time, ultimately marrying Sol’s daughter and later purchasing the business outright in 1998.
Peter’s son Daniel left the accounting world and began working with his father in 2016. Danny took over operation of the company in 2020. After 55+ years in business, American Dry Cleaners is a household name, and your patronage continues to help support the families of over 35 employees that work at American. As a small family business, we treat our employees like family and are proud to say that many have worked here for over a decade.
Daniel, a University of Buffalo School of Management graduate brought a wealth of business experience and an exuberant entrepreneurial spirit to the dry cleaners. Building on the brand that his grandfather and father established, Daniel created and integrated a garment restoration division that grew into a full-service restoration company, American Restoration Solutions. ARS provides comprehensive and total job coverage for fire, smoke, water and mold damage. In 2022, ARS is continued to expand with a new division, American Build, allowing the expert team at ARS to rebuild after mitigating the initial loss. In 2023, new ARS locations were established in New Jersey and Florida.
